Aztlan was formed out of the Mexican states of Jalisco, San Luis Potosí, Colima, Michoacán, Mexico (Estado de México), Guanajuato, Querétaro, Zacatecas, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Federal District (Mexico City), Nayarit, northern Veracruz, Hidalgo and Aguascalientes. It is one of the country's more populous states, and is an entirely hispanic population. Aztlan, like may of the Latin American states, is receiving large amounts of aid from the federal government of the United States to build a modern infrastructure and bring the socioeconomic status of its citizenry up to that of the old United States. Aztlan has very little skilled labor that would be useful in the Rust Belt. Only the top twenty percent of Aztlan citizens go on to any professional career, and even then it is usually just the manufacturing plants on the coast or center.
Economy[]
While Aztlan is anything but wealthy, it does have the most Modern Economy of all of the Mexican states. Aztlan is home to a very large manufacturing base for US automakers, and recently has begun increasing its ship building industry. Aztlan has also recently become the benefactor of the booming private space industry. Space Adventures is currently constructing a large spaceport just outside of Guadalajara for its dry climate, and Space X has a vested interest in the port's construction.
Politics[]
Currently Aztlan is voting with the Independent majority, but many are proposing the creation of a socialist party to give the Latin states a greater level of influence in national politics.
